Why?
- 𝐓𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐬 and make sure their voices are heard and understood in city hall. No one, citizen or staff should feel uncomfortable voicing their opinion to city leaders. I’ll make sure your priorities are being addressed by council and staff.
- 𝐓𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮, not the other way around. I understand that the taxpayer is the boss, not a revenue stream to be exploited for the benefits of a privileged few.
- 𝐓𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. I am skeptical of closed sessions and will always fight for public access to information about city business.
- 𝐓𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. Residents should be informed about city business before decisions are made. City council must have complete information before making decisions - rather than simply rubber stamping mayoral or staff suggestions. The city must improve communication and cooperation with surrounding municipalities and with other levels of government including the school district, the county and state and federal agencies.
If trusted to be your Alderman, I will do my best to make sure Wausau’s Southeast Side remains a great place to live for generations to come. I do not have all the answers, but I have made a career out of asking the right questions to achieve results.
The role of an Alderman should be to represent the residents of the district. I don’t want to force my ideas on my neighbors. If elected, I would strive to understand your needs and concerns and bring them to city hall. I promise to be honest to my constituents. I promise to be respectful in all my dealings with staff and colleagues on the council. As election season proceeds, please feel free to voice your opinions and concerns.
If you love this city as I do, I would be honored to be your voice in city hall.
